Awareness with Horses Emerging COVID 19 Strategy and Beyond Project
Our mission is to help create, and help others create a more peaceful, sustainable world through equine assisted experiential learning and therapeutic interventions that support learning and growth, self-awareness, mental health well-being, resilience, co-creative leadership skills and nature connection, for both adults and young people. We work one to one or in small groups.
Working with key workers
During these unprecedented times of dealing with the pressures of the COVID 19 pandemic, key workers in particular are needing, or going to need recovery services, for example extra mental health wellbeing support, support around grief, compassion fatigue, and other work related stress and anxiety, including burn out, depression and exhaustion.
Working with Leaders
Also during these times many companies, particularly smaller businesses, charities, social enterprises and the self employed are dealing with extreme uncertainty and loss of income. We live in volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous times, and many of us already believe that in a changing world we need to find new ways of doing business that create results that serve the wellbeing of all.
Working with Young People
Young people are our future, but at the moment they are having their education interrupted, and the potential of job possibilities reduced with far less certainty of what their futures may look like than have been experienced for many generations.
Through facilitation, coaching or counselling with the horses as our guides, working with them loose or connecting with them on a lead rope on the ground, we develop a process of enquiry, where we explore how to enter a relationship with the horse which is equal, not power over. By engaging with horses in this way, participants learn about themselves, others and the world at large.
These facilitative interventions can be cathartic, catalytic and supportive, including extreme letting go of emotions, wonderful aha moments or feelings of calm, peace and joy. In the way we work the only objective is awareness, rooted in reciprocity between human and other than human.
