Food from the Diaspora is a fun, interactive segment looking at the history of food and why we eat it. Join presenters Mopani, Shem, Khadra, Grace and Sunshine as they prepare dishes from their cultures and invite guests on a step by step guide you can follow from home.
Black In My Day
“Black in my day we didn’t have the luxury of cars, we had to walk 17 miles to get to school!” Join us for our historical sketch show including songs, conversations and games from important figures in Black British History. Isn’t it about time we learnt about what happened here in the UK?
Storytime with the Griots
The Griots are West African storytellers, singers, musicians, and oral historians. They played an important role in West African society, keeping records of all the births, deaths, marriages through the generations of the village or family. They are Masters of oral traditions, preserving the culture of our ancestors. Join our presenters and special guests on a vibrant journey celebrating Black books, folk stories and songs in accents, dialects and languages that represent ‘home’.
Mindful
How can we encourage happy, healthy children that understand and talk about their feelings? Mindful is a fun, interactive segment for children aged 7-12 years old, equipping children with skills to self-regulate anger, sadness, loss, boredom and anxiety. It’s easy being mindful when you’re having fun!

A financial literacy series for adults and children dispelling some of the myths around money in the Black community. Learn to save, spend and invest with our presenters!
The Village
THE VILLAGE is a parents development programme under the Black History School, supporting Black parents in and around the UK. We launch the project with 6 doula sessions for pregnant Black women. The doula sessions offer free, specialised and culturally sensitive support to reduce the health inequalities that Black women face during pregnancy and childbirth in the UK
